The Rehab Team - A year in review 2022

With the end of 2022 coming up fast we thought it would be a great time to reflect on the year The Rehab Team has had. And what a big year it has been…

Early 2022 saw The Rehab Team connect with Active+, a nationwide provider of various health contracts including ACC contracts, to come on board as a provider of their services within Tauranga, Papamoa and the wider Bay of Plenty area. An added bonus of this is having the opportunity to work alongside other health professionals in the local area and be part of a wider interdisciplinary team.

From June onwards, The Rehab Team grew from a team of two to a team of five with Eimhin coming onboard as an experienced neurological physiotherapist from the UK, Katie joining the team in a new role as a Rehab Coach for a short period, Melissa starting out completing administration support and later Rehab Coach too. We also saw Raewyn added to the team as a virtual assistant to support the growing number of phone calls and enquiries.

Our services we were able to offer also grew alongside our growing team. Our clinic-based and in-home physiotherapy service now provides general/sport physiotherapy, neurological physiotherapy, vestibular physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and our Rehab Coach service. Our Rehab Coach/Physio assistant role was set up to maximise our clients rehab outcomes alongside our Tauranga and Papamoa based physiotherapy team. This service also enables many of our clients wishing to remain active, mobile and safe as they age in their own homes an option for one-on-one, in-home rehab to maintain and maximise their function at a more affordable price.

To round up the year, we recently received the keys to our very own clinic based in Fashion Island in Papamoa. This will not only provide a hub for our mobile team but an option for clients to see us in clinic or for clients travelling for private neurological physiotherapy from out of town. We are currently in the process of renovating the clinic which will open to clients in January 2023. If you would like to keep in the loop about our renovating journey and keep in touch regarding opening dates, feel free to follow The Rehab Team on Facebook or Instagram.

In the next week, The Rehab Team will officially turn two years old. We are very grateful for the wonderful people we have met, the lovely patients we have had the pleasure and privilege of treating and our incredible team. Can't wait to see what year three brings.

We wish you and your friends and family a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Take care,

Mike and Kaitlin Davis and the rest of the team :)
